9 Week Challenge - Week 5

WEEK 5 COMPLETED - 5th week of my 9 week challenge is completed and the scale has been nothing but a tease to me this past week.

For once during my 9 week challenge I began to see some positive progress as my fat % dropped to 16% - 17% during the middle of the week, unfortunately that didn't hold at the end of the week when it came time for the official weigh in.  I blame Elen's birthday celebration since we celebrated with lots of food on Sunday just before the official weigh in. =P

Regardless of the official weigh in results, I'm encouraged to finally see that all my efforts in the past 5 weeks  have shown positive results even if the results are slow coming.  I hope for this week I will be able to drop it down to 16% - 17% again and maintain it there till the end of the week.

Most of my training for this week came in the form of badminton as I had an all day tournament this past weekend.  I hope the weather will continue to be good this coming week so that I can take advantage of doing some more running outside.  With only 4 weeks left of my training I have to take advantage of every nice weather I get, there's just something about running that seems to burn the fat more effectively than other aerobic exercises.

Highlight of this week's training and final weigh in:

  • Approx. 2 hrs of weight training.
  • Approx. 6 kms of running.
  • Approx. 14 hrs of badminton.

Final weigh in for this week:

  • 162.5 lbs (plus 0.5 lb from previous week).
  • 18% body fat (fat % unchanged from previous week).
